If you are  unaware of TED and TED Talks then it’s about time you found out more.  According to their website (www.ted.com) “TED is a small nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader. Along with two annual conferences — the TED Conference in Long Beach and Palm Springs each spring, and the TEDGlobal conference in Oxford UK each summer — TED includes the award-winning TEDTalks video site, the Open Translation Project and Open TV Project, the inspiring TED Fellows and TEDx programs, and the annual TED Prize.”  Their website has short video vignettes of hundreds of TED talks about a range of things (as described above).

Some of the best of the recent crop of educationally related videos include:

Sugata Mitra talking about his hole-in-the-wall computing project amongst other things – these can be found HERE

Ken Robinson: Changing education paradigms – an animated short video in which  Sir Ken Robinson lays out the link between 3 troubling trends: rising drop-out rates, schools’ dwindling stake in the arts, and ADHD.

John Hardy: My green school dream – this is an inspiring talk about a dream that has come true.

More from TED soon!
